New Presentation posted - Northern Virginia (NOVA) Spray Cancellations. This presentation is the result of original research done by Club member Jerry Weirich. The Merrifield, VA post office is one of the USPS locations were new spray cancellations and markings are tested. Best of all this is an ongoing research project as new markings are tested throughout the year. For example the Merrifield P&DC just started operations with a new machine 8.  Jerry has a copy dated 25 May (Saturday) and he is asking everyone to keep an eye out for machine 8 cancels and report any sightings.  "8 L" will be at the end of the second text line in the cancel.  The goal is to identify the earliest known usage.
